Tribhuvan University visit to Denmark

Prof. Dr. Hirabahadur Maharjan, Vice-chancellor, Tribhuvan University, visited Aarhus University on 30 Nov and 1 Dec 2012 to discuss collaboration within PSDR under the upcoming grant on “Capacity Building within Research Communication, Dissemination and Networking” as well as the expected Phase 2 from Aug 2013 to Jul 2015. He was joined in the Nepalese delegation by Prof. Dr. Shrestha, Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr. Pokharel, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mr. Rai, ODL Coordinator, and Dr. Lekhnath Sharma, Coordinator, PSDR. After a formal introduction to AU by Vice-Dean of Knowledge Exchange, Jan Ifversen, and presentations on the graduate school model in Denmark and international collaboration at AU, the discussion tuned in on E-learning that is an important strategic priority for Tribhuvan University in the coming years. On Saturday, Dec 1, a consultation between the delegations and representatives from the Nepal research community of PSDR discussed how BSU can support development of new PhD structures at the two faculties as well as expansion to include two additional campuses of Tribhuvan University. With 60 constituent campuses, TU is one of the world’s largest universities.
