The Platform on Stability Democracy and Rights (PSDR) brings together researchers from Danish universities and partner universities in Africa and Asia in a long-term partnership with the aim to strengthen university capacity in research, education and dissemination.

The PSDR focus is on the analysis of social dynamics and their positive and negative impact on developmental processes. The partnership includes researchers from the social sciences and humanities and focuses on three research themes: 1) “Stability & Fragility”; 2) “Freedom, Democracy & Rights”; and 3) “Gender Equality”.

South Visits to Denmark, Spring 2013

In the enhancement of research capacity among staff at the PSDR partner universities in South, a number of people from Maseo University, Gulu University, and Tribhuvan University are in Denmark during spring 2013.

South partner workshop at Aarhus University

During a two days workshop at Aarhus University (May 2-3) staff members and PhD candidates from Kenya, Uganda and Nepal met to present and discuss both research proposals and ongoing PhD projects with their Danish hosts and partners in North.

"New" PSDR secretariat and joint email

From 15 May 2013 a "new" PSDR secretariat is starting-up. The secretariat is a two-person unit with Lene Marie Andreasen as the platform’s new Coordinator and Martin Damgaard Larsen as newly appointed Communication Officer.

BSU Scholarship Programme

Universities Denmark and Danida have launched a new programme - the BSU Scholarship Programme. The Programme aims at providing talented students with a Bachelor degreee from BSU south partner universities with the opportunity to obtain a master's degree from a Danish university.
